Sebastian Silverio is a painter unpacking the intricacies around childhood on the Southwest side of Chicago and how those experiences have affected adulthood. His work uses dynamic color fields, bold line work, and striking subject overlap to focus on community disinvestment, violence, and beauty. He studied Fine Art & Art History at Columbia College Chicago from 2015-2017.

Now self-taught, Silverio has exhibited work all over Chicago, including, a solo show at Blick Art Material’s flagship location, group shows at Bridgeport Art Center and Sentrock Studio. He’s also been featured in Free Spirit Media and was featured in a Q&A for South Side Weekly’s 2022 Arts Issue, which included his painting as the cover. Now practicing out of his studio at Cornelia Arts Building, Silverio continues to evolve his body of work.
